Explore the mission grounds with your family and friends, where you can participate in engaging hands-on demonstrations.

2025 Demonstration Day Schedule:

Activities may include corn grinding, making candles, blacksmithing, spinning and weaving, leather production, gardening as well as a new Chumash life station offering visitors a chance to explore Chumash culture today.

During Demonstration Days, you may notice that staff and volunteers are wearing State Park uniforms rather than mission-era costumes. We are taking a break from costumes to develop programs with a fuller perspective of the history of La Purisima Mission and the people who lived there.

 These unique days provide an excellent opportunity for the public to explore California’s Mission history as State park staff and volunteers will showcase various elements of this rich historical legacy.
